Susan Bailey serves as the Director of Instructional Design at Distance and Online Education, where she leads experienced professionals dedicated to advancing the quality of online learning at the University of Iowa. As Director, Susan provides oversight for both Instructional Design and Media at Distance and Online Education. 

Instructional Designers partner closely with instructors, one-on-one and at the program level, to design and redesign courses that are engaging, learner-centered, and grounded in best practices. As the University's Quality Matters and OLC institutional coordinator, Susan champions national quality standards and provides access to professional learning and recognition opportunities for faculty.
