It is important to be aware that that required online resources are not accessible from some international locations. This includes ICON, the University of Iowa’s online learning management system, as well as Honorlock, Google products (e.g. Google Docs, Drive), Facebook, Dropbox, YouTube, etc.

In many cases, the inability to access required resources is a result of internet restrictions imposed by the government in the region where students are attempting to gain access. The ability to successfully complete online courses will be affected by such restrictions.

• Several countries are restricted from using Canvas. Users in these countries will not be able to access ICON/Canvas.
• Honorlock, the university's virtual proctoring platform, does not allow users to connect via VPN or Anonymous Proxy service.

Students must ensure that ICON and other required resources are accessible from any location where coursework will be completed. Unfortunately, there is no solution to this problem available. Students who are not able to access the course site must make the necessary registration changes to avoid being assessed tuition and fees.
