A HawkID and password is required to log into MyUI to register for courses and to access your courses in ICON (Iowa Courses Online).

New Students

If you are new to the University, you will be asked to select a HawkID and password after you submit your application for admission.

You can expect an email regarding your HawkID from the Office of Admissions (be-a-hawkeye@uiowa.edu) within 24-hours of submitting your application. This email provides instructions for setting up your HawkID.

The HawkID email is sent to the email address used in your application and sometimes lands in a junk/spam box.

Not finding the email from Admissions (be-a-hawkeye@uiowa.edu)?
