As a marketing professional at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s in Sioux City, Iowa, Mandie (Norby) Mayo needs to be able to communicate effectively, have strong writing skills, think creatively, critically, and strategically. A tall order one might think, but when Mandie started looking for a graduate degree, she found that the University of Iowa’s M.A. in Strategic Communication fit her needs.

Mandie has been fortunate to have rewarding professional experiences in her hometown, so she was looking for a degree that she could pursue part-time while continuing to work. The University of Iowa distance education program allows her to remain in Sioux City, and complete an advanced degree from a highly-ranked public institution. Mandie can log in to her classroom, connect with Journalism faculty, and participate in class discussions weekly just like if she were on campus in Iowa City.

Distance degree programs allow the University of Iowa to extend its reach across Iowa and beyond.
