Types of Non-UI Exams
If you will be completing an exam from an institution other than the University of Iowa, contact test-centers@uiowa.edu with the following information:
- Tester's name and email address
- Exam name/number
- Exam duration in minutes
- Preferred dates/times to take the exam
- Institution's name
- Course number/code and title
- Instructor's name and email address
- Exam medium (paper or online)
- Whether any materials are allowed during the exam
Paper exams are typically sent to Exam Services by mail or email by the instructor. Completed exams will be returned by email or mail, depending on the instructor's preference.
To schedule for yourself or for someone else, email test-centers@uiowa.edu and provide the following information:
- Tester’s name and email address
- Instructor / supervisor name and email address
- Institution / business name
- Course listing and title (when applicable)
- Exam name/number
- Exam duration in minutes
- Exam type (paper or online)
- Testing materials allowed
- Preferred dates/times to take the exam (typical hours are M-F 9-4)
To schedule a CLEP exam, email test-centers@uiowa.edu and provide the following information:
- Your name and email address
- Which provider: CLEP
- The exam name/title/code
- Exam duration (usually 90 or 120 minutes)
- Preferred dates/times to take the exam (typical hours are M-F 9-4)
If you will be completing a CLEP exam, visit the CLEP website before scheduling. The website will ask you to select an exam and will ask for payment. After providing payment, a ticket number will be issued. On the day of the scheduled exam, bring the ticket number issued by CLEP and one government-issued ID (such as a driver's license or passport) that includes your photograph and signature. The last name on your ID must match the name on your registration ticket.
If you will be completing a Meazure Learning exam for certification or licensure, first, visit the Meazure Learning website for the appropriate program. The website will ask you to register and select an exam. The website will also provide our test center's availability. Select a date and time. On the day of the exam, please remember to bring a form of ID. Contact test-centers@uiowa.edu with any proctoring or scheduling questions.
