Many accommodations can be fulfilled at the North Campus Test Center.
Overview of accommodations
Extended time and reduced distraction are the primary accommodations DOE Exam Services can provide at the North Campus Test Center. Accommodations that can be fulfilled at the test center are listed on the student Letter of Accommodation (LOA) without an asterisk.
Some student accommodations (denoted by an asterisk) need to be fulfilled at Student Disability Services (SDS). For those types of accommodations, we encourage you to discuss options with your instructor(s), our staff and/or Student Disability Services (SDS) staff before scheduling.
Verify Exam Accommodations in the Proctored Exams Portal
SDS accommodations that you selected for each course (on the Course Accommodations page in MyUI) will be used to determine exam duration and the location(s) you are offered when scheduling exams in the Proctored Exams Portal in ICON.
- If you are approved for/elected to use extended time, you will see the extra time displayed in minutes in the “Extra Time” column.
- If you are approved for/elect to use a reduced distraction test environment, you will be offered reduced distraction locations when scheduling.
- If you are approved for/elect to use any accommodations with asterisks, you will be offered space at the SDS Test Center when scheduling.
Extended Time and Online Exams
Extended time will not display for an exam built in ICON Quizzes until you press the button to start the exam. At that point, you should see the exam timer display the exam time + any extended time.
Reduced Distraction and Online Exams
All seats at the North Campus Test Center, which is our primary location, are considered reduced distraction by Student Disability Services.
Honorlock exams can be completed from a private location off-campus; therefore, the virtual proctoring platform is also considered reduced distraction by Student Disability Services.
